COOKIE POLICY

Last Updated: May 1, 2026

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.

This Cookie Policy explains how All Dollars and Sense LLC, doing business as Dollars and Sense (“we,” “us,” or “our”), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at http://alldollarsandsense.com (the “Site”).

2. COOKIES VS. LOCAL STORAGE

It is important to distinguish between cookies and local storage (also known as localStorage). Our budgeting tools use your browser’s localStorage to save your financial data (income, expenses, savings, debt) directly on your device. localStorage is not a cookie. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not sent to any server with each request — it remains entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us.

This Cookie Policy addresses only cookies and similar tracking technologies, not the localStorage functionality used by our budgeting tools. For information about how we handle your financial data through localStorage, please refer to Section 14 of our Privacy Policy.

3. HOW WE USE COOKIES

We use cookies for a limited number of purposes. The cookies used on our Site fall into the following categories:

Cookie Type Provider Purpose Duration
Payment Processing Stripe Used for fraud prevention and to process payments securely when you make a purchase. Varies by function. See Stripe’s cookie policy for specifics.
Essential / Functional Netlify (hosting) Basic server-level cookies that may be set for load balancing, security, and content delivery. Session-based (expire when you close your browser).

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or social media tracking cookies. We do not sell any data collected through cookies to third parties.

4. TYPES OF COOKIES BY DURATION

Session Cookies

Session cookies are temporary cookies that are erased when you close your web browser. They are used to maintain your session as you navigate the Site.

Persistent Cookies

Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them. They are used to remember your preferences and actions across multiple visits.

5. FIRST-PARTY AND THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

First-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are set by our Site directly. We currently do not set any first-party cookies for tracking purposes.

Third-Party Cookies

Third-party cookies are set by services other than our Site. The third-party cookies on our Site come from Stripe (payment processing). Stripe has its own privacy and cookie policy, which we encourage you to review:

  • Stripe: https://stripe.com/privacy

We use Fathom Analytics for website analytics. Fathom does not use cookies and does not collect personal data, so it does not appear in the cookie table above.

6. YOUR CHOICES REGARDING COOKIES

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences in the following ways:

Browser Settings

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can modify your browser settings to block or delete cookies. The method for doing so varies by browser. Please consult your browser’s help documentation for instructions:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions

Impact of Disabling Cookies

If you choose to block or delete cookies, some features of the Site may not function properly. However, the core functionality of our budgeting tools will not be affected, as they rely on localStorage (which is not a cookie) rather than cookies.

7. DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS

Some browsers include a Do Not Track (“DNT”) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. At this time, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.

If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Cookie Policy.

8. UPDATES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was last revised.

We encourage you to periodically review this Cookie Policy to stay informed about how we use cookies.
